Dear Members of Teamsters Local 618,

                 Welcome to our new Teamster Local 618 website full of interesting news on labor related issues here at home of our own Local 618 and more Teamster information from  across the country and Canada. Our first website was started many years ago and Local 618 was at the forefront of giving information to our members thru the internet. Just to give you a short history of Teamsters Local 618, we were chartered in the International Brotherhood of Teamsters in 1938. Our Local Union was formed in the beginning by mostly service stations. At that time many service stations were popping up all over St. Louis and Local 618 was there to organize them. Our founder and first Local 618 Principal Officer was Ed Dorsey. Principal Officer Dorsey held that position for 44 years. In the most productive years during the time thru the 1940's - 1960's Local 618's membership grew to over 10,000 members strong.

Since starting out just representing service stations Local has expanded to a variety of industries. Local 618 was also chartered in the 1980's as the Airline Division in the St. Louis area. Currently we represent members in the rental car companies, parking lot attendants, garages, flight attendants, car dealerships, factorys, pilots, baggage handlers, freight, parts houses, tank haulers, aviation fueling, construction rentals, radiator shops, truck rental, forklift companies, automobile paint shops, grocery, chemical companies, service stations. Teamsters Local 618 is one of the most diverse Teamster Local Unions in St. Louis.

Our members are very proud of our rich heritage in the labor movement here in St. Louis and the part we take in helping the working people of the City of St. Louis and it's surrounding areas. As always if I can ever be of any assistence feel free to call me.
